2023 Sustainability Report
Sustainability is at the centre of every decision the Port of Newcastle is making and the organisation has committed to a target-driven Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy against which it is achieving and tracking its progress. In 2023, Port of Newcastle set an SBTi aligned target for Scope 3 emissions, achieved a GRESB rating of 96, achieved Sustainability Advantage gold membership and was recognised in the top 101 workplaces for women in Australia by Work 180.

2022 Sustainability Report
Port of Newcastle has released its annual report measuring the organisation’s progress towards achieving its sustainability targets. Sustainability is at the centre of every decision the Port of Newcastle is making and the organisation has committed to a target-driven Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy against which it is achieving and tracking its progress. In 2022, Port of Newcastle had its Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) endorsed by Reconciliation Australia and We once again improved our Global Benchmark for Real Assets (GRESB) score, rising from 92 to 95, maintaining our 5-star rating, a sign we are continually striving to improve, with the long term target of achieving net zero by 2040.
