In line with the Port Development Plan, Port of Newcastle is pleased to advise that the Carrington Marine Services Precinct is set to be revitalised.
Thales Australia and the NSW Government are investing in a major marine ship repair and maintenance facility at the Port of Newcastle. Phase one will create 70 new jobs, and will cater for vessels up to 55 metres long and up to 1,000 tonne displacement.

Thales has been operating within the precinct for many years.

This is a great outcome not just for the port, but for our region. This project will help grow and diversify the port and builds on its rich history of ship building and repair. Importantly, it will also create additional skilled jobs for our community.
